Marshall, Mich. - The Daily Reporter Tue Apr 28, 2009 Obituary - Audrey L. (Woodman) Vaccaro, 38 of Battle Creek, formerly of Coldwater departed this world on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. Audrey believed in god and his grace, and is now at peace from her pain. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. The service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Lockwood Community Church with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Girard. Audrey was born to Dwight and Carol Woodman in Coldwater on Nov. 2, 1970. She grew up in Coldwater, graduating from Coldwater High School in 1988. Audrey attended Kellogg Community College in the practical nursing program, graduating as an LPN in June of 1991. She met her husband, Antonio Vaccaro on Halloween in 1990 and their first date was giving blood at an American Red Cross Blood Drive. They were married May 2, 1992 in Coldwater. She moved to Southern Indiana with her husband when he took a position as an Occupational Therapist there. Her husband soon took a traveling position and they were off to Oklahoma, Texas and Virginia. They found permanent positions in Virginia and lived there for eight years with their son, Cody. Audrey worked as a nurse for the Rockbridge Co. Jail and later for the Dept. of Juvenile Justice and Home Health Care. Audrey’s family moved back to Michigan in late 2005 to be closer to their families. She began suffering health problems in early 2006 which required multiple surgeries and long periods of recovery. She loved the outdoors and swimming. Audrey adored her dogs, volunteering at a variety of rescue shelters. If desired, memorials may be made to Animal Aid of Branch County. She will be greatly missed as a loving mother to Cody, adoring wife of Tony, daughter of Carol and Dwight, sister of Luke, granddaughter of Eleanor Patch, close family friend of Dorothy and Charles Genoe, aunt, niece, cousin and friend.
